Fillers

Restore your youthful appearance in fullness to the face and lips.  It can soften facial wrinkles and creases, enhance shallow contours, plump lips, and more.  More than one visible sign of aging can be traced back to volume loss; becoming thin in the facial tissues, looking more etched with lines around the nose and mouth, cheeks becoming more hollow, lips looking thinner, etc.  Dermal fillers work to replace the lost volume, plump, and smooth to help restore a more youthful appearance.

What Fillers Do

Improve Facial Symmetry for Facial Features

Smooth Out Chin Creases

Plump and Enhance the Look of Lips

Diminish Vertical Lip Lines

Enhance and Restore Volume to Sunken Cheeks or Temples

Smooth Lines Around the Nose and Mouth

General Filler Composition

What are Fillers Made Of?

Calcium Hydroxylapatite (CaHA)

a substance found naturally in the bones which lasts about 12 months for most patients that is used as a filler that is also reported to help stimulate natural collagen production

Use – Deeper Lines and Wrinkles Filler

Poly-L-lactic Acid

a biocompatible biodegradable synthetic substance that has been in use for yeast medically – it is a “collagen stimulator” classified product that dissipates a few days after treatment and can last more than 2 years

Use – Deeper Facial Wrinkles

Polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA)

a biocompatible substance that’s been used medically for much of the last century that takes the form of a “microsphere” and remains beneath the skin indefinitely.  Most of the fillers additionally contain collagen as well to help with firmness and structure

Autologous fat injections (Facial Fat Grafting)

the only injectable filler that requires surgery that can last for many years.  Your own fat is harvested from other areas of the body, typically using liposuction.  The fat is purified and injected into the face to help achieve results.  This type of filler is recommended to only be done by board certified surgeons.

Non-surgical filler treatment is a medical procedure that should be done by someone who has specific training.  The ABCS recommends you choose a provider with specific training, knowledge and skill to ensure safe treatment and natural-looking results.  Extensive knowledge of facial anatomy, a well-developed aesthetic eye, and a surgeon’s skill and precision level all help to create the best results.
